Professional Development

Professional Development is a formal mechanism for a suitably qualified Senior Teachers to impart techniques and knowledge to general teachers and student teachers. It is different from Teacher Training, which is specific instruction to attain basic qualification or higher level accredition. For Professional Development, a Senior IYA Teacher could be brought from interstate or from other countries to run some workshops to impart broader or more specific technical knowledge to WA Teachers and Student Teachers. This is a local WA initiative to supplement those PDs run over East and provides a convenience to WA teachers which would otherwise require inter-state travel. Attendance at these go towards requirements to maintain our already obtained qualifications. In WA we are fortunate to have senior qualified teachers who are running these in WA.
