A not-for-profit Association of Iyengar Yoga Teachers of Western Australia.
The association has its genesis from previous initiatives in which various Western Australia yoga schools historically collaborated. Mid 2023 a meeting was convened between WA Iyengar Yoga teachers and there was a consensus to re-initate that collaboration under a fully incorporated not-for-profit association so as to gain more formal recognition generally and to gain acceptance from Iyengar Yoga Australia as a recognised affiliate of IYA. The association was registered late 2023 and an association bank account opened. We started our work in 2024.
Our Operating Principles
- Promote Iyengar Yoga to the Western Australian (WA) community.
- Provide marketing and advertising for Iyengar Yoga at health and wellness community events.
- To allow advertising for sponsorship and obtaining grants from government, corporates and small businesses.
- To collaborate with Allied Health Professionals.
- Facilitate participation and Improve communication amongst the WA Iyengar yoga schools, teachers and students.
- To provide professional development to the WA Iyengar yoga practitioners.
- Providing support in sponsoring senior Iyengar yoga teachers to visit WA.
- Provide pastoral care for its members in regional areas of WA.
